In the Quality field we call it "5S".
Originally adopted in Japan by companies like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, it is "Seiri, Seiton, Seison, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke" or translated- Sort, Simplify, Sweep/Scrub/Shine, Sustain, Sanitize/Standardize, and Sustain. "6S" adds Safety.
Henry Ford used it in the early 20th century in his auto plants. The Japanese took it seriously but Americans did not. People perceive that Japan makes better cars. I will post an in-depth piece about 5S in the future. It can be applied anywhere for anything.

This is Good's Store in Quarryville PA. Many of the workers there are Amish or Mennonite. They offer top quality dry-goods like Lehman's non-electric.
